Here is a TEDx talk by Carol Davit explaining why we need to save what remains of our tallgrass prairies. I think her perspective is right on target and this is an exemplary way to think and talk about prairie conservation.

Carol Davits is Executive Director of the Missouri Prairie Foundation. One can substitute Texas or Texas coastal prairie every time she says Missouri and almost all statements would be true.
