Our meetings will usually be held at the Houston Red Cross Building at 2700 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX .

Seed Cleaning Party Sponsored by Katy Prairie Conservancy:
We will be cleaning seeds collected this fall and putting them in packets to be distributed to people willing to grow them out for KPC’s Great Growout Program. Come and see what these native seeds look like, how to clean them, and take some home. Learn about prairie plants and seeds from KPC experts. KPC is providing pizza!

Tim Siegmund, Managing Prairies with Diversity in Mind

Tim was born and raised in Giddings, TX. A bachelor’s degree and graduate research at Stephen F. Austin State University was followed by employment with TPWD in 2009. In College Station, Tim was responsible for 7 counties performing wildlife surveys, public outreach, technical guidance, prescribed fire assistance, public hunting opportunity, wildlife tax valuation planning and dealing with other wildlife issues. Starting Nov 1st, 2017 Tim began his role as the Private Lands Program Leader for TPWD dealing with private lands issues in a statewide capacity. Tim resides in College Station with his wife and two children.

David Bezanson will speak on Talbot Prairie
David is Land Protection and Easement Manager for The Nature Conservancy (TNC). In Texas, working to acquire preserves and conservation easements statewide. Bezanson served as executive director of Texas Land Conservancy (formerly Natural Area Preservation Association) before joining TNC. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas-Austin. His master’s thesis described the natural vegetation of Texas and conservation priorities.
