Eastern gama grass – collect ripe seeds after the male flowers have fallen.

Hi Seed Collectors,

Correction: Please note, the header & subject were incorrect in the previous email. Seed collection trips are on

  • Friday,7/10 and
  • Tuesday,7/14.

Addendum 1:

A list of seeds we still need for NRCS for Fort Bend & Harris Counties are the blanks blocks at this link. To print out the chart, highlight the section to be printed. Click "File" and click "Print" in the dropdown menu. Then click "selection", "actual size", and "landscape" in the popout menu. Finally click "Print" (bottom left) of the popout menu.

Addendum 2:

On Friday, 7/10 afternoon, probably after lunch, around 2 pm??, there is an opportunity, thanks to Cheryl Sedivec, to rescue prairie plants along highway 1093 in Fulshear. Specifics have not been worked out at this time. Anyone interested either seed collecting and/or plant rescue, please reply to this email.
You may keep the plants for yourselves or donate them to restoration projects. Please note, if you wish to donate them to a restoration project, you might have to first pot the rescued plants in gallon pots and then donate the gallon pots. Some restoration projects, may not have the time nor volunteers to deal with freshly dug plants that need the immediate attention.

**** The text of the previously sent email, reprinted below, had the correct information ****
